I am a home-educating mom of two kids, 12 and 3. Before becoming a home educator, I taught high school math in public and private schools in the mid-Atlantic area of the U.S.  Before that, I had plans to become a rocket scientist.  Way before that, I was a little kid in Germany.

This blog is a collection of things I am pondering related to homeschooling. Some posts are about homeschool regulations, others are about things I am trying out with my kids. Everything I post will be 100% secular.

My educational philosophy is to provide my children a solid academic foundation in reading, writing, mathematics, and science. Music, arts, and sports are sprinkled into our education and take a greater focus if and when the child is interested. We use textbooks as an outline for what to cover, but heavily supplement with other books, videos, etc.
